Criminal Law
Attorney Charles Hoetzel focuses his practice in criminal law by dedicating himself to protecting his clients’ rights, freedom and reputation from the beginning to the end of their legal dilemma. Prior to becoming an attorney, Charles spent almost two decades as a police officer with 14 years assigned as a detective. Charles investigated a wide range of criminal activity, including, homicides, robberies, burglaries, sexual assaults, gun possession, narcotics violations, gang participation, and thefts. His past experience as an investigator is a unique advantage to his clients. For example, Charles is able to easily identify and articulate improper police conduct, whether it involves an unlawful stop or seizure, or excessive use of force incidents.
Personal Injury
Charles also handles personal injury cases. Charles’ thoroughness and attention to detail serves to ensure his client’s issues are identified and no stone remains unturned during his representation. Having been injured in a vehicle accident in the past, he understands how his client’s lives are impacted by the negligent acts of those responsible. Charles’ goal is not only to reach a positive final outcome for his clients but also to assist them throughout the process in dealing with the physical and mental consequences of their injuries.
Education
Charles received his Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies from American University.
